ADMISSIONS AND ENROLLMENT INFORMATION SY 2013-2014

Thank you for your interest in Richard Wright Public Charter School for Journalism and Media Art (RWPCS). Richard Wright Public Charter High School is a public school free of charge serving students who reside in the District of Columbia.
The application period for SY13-14 is December 15, 2012 to March 15, 2013. If there are more students applying than spaces available, we will conduct a public lottery for student applicants on March 22, 2013. Notification letters of acceptance or waitlisting will be mailed March 25, 2013. The deadline for those accepted students to accept their space if selected per the lottery is April 12, 2013.
After all eligible names have been drawn/selected, the school will add the names of applicants who were not selcted per the lottery and/or submitting applications after the Open Enrollment Period in the order in which they are received for "Rolling Admissions". When spaces become available, applicants will be offered a chance to enroll for SY13-14.
Parents residing in the District of Columbia wishing to enroll their child in grade 8, 9 or 10 at Richard Wright Public Charter School must complete an application. You may complete the online application by clicking the link below. You may also click "download application" for completion. Completed applications may be mailed, faxed, scanned to email, or delivered to the school office. We will gladly mail applications upon request.
Richard Wright Public Charter School will conducts "Open House" every other Tuesday, 10-11am beginning January 15, 2013 . The program is designed for interested families to shadow students in the classrooms and/or speak with the Head of School. Please call in advance to schedulde your visit.
